The
Reverend R. Haydn Schofield, M.A., has accepted the appointment
as the new rector of St. Luke's parish.
Haydn
has been in the Lord's service for many years, beginning when
the Lord first called him when he was an officer in the British
Army. Once he had given his life to Christ, the Lord called him
into ordained ministry. Haydn completed his seminary at St. John's
Theological College in Nottingham, England. Then it was off to
Canada's far North where he served for the last 22 years. He had
been the Rector of St. Andrews Anglican Church, Hay River since
1988, and Archdeacon of the Diocese of the Arctic since 1994.
He
is now bringing his gifts and talents to St. Luke's. Haydn shares
our commitment to God's word and work, our strong belief to missions,
evangelism and ministering to our community. We are looking forward
to growing and moving together, as the Lord calls
and directs.
The
Reverend R. Haydn Schofield conducted his first St. Luke's service
on Palm Sunday, April 9, 2006.
